Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea 14/09/19
14 September 2019
Two sides seeking a way of a severe crisis will meet face-to-face at the Molineux Stadium this weekend when Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Chelsea.
Everything the hosts have done in the league so far has been in sharp contrast to what they did last season. Winless in all four PL games this term (D3, L1), the Wanderers have yet to score the opener, with three of four goals they’ve netted so far coming after the break. Also, two of their home league matches in the early stage of the PL campaign have ended with the same 1-1 scoreline, with Wolves losing 1-0 at the halftime break on both occasions. But, a stalemate seems to be an unlikely outcome now, as none of the previous six competitive H2Hs between these two sides here has ended in a draw, with Chelsea coming off better four times across those clashes (W4, L2).
The visitors have, meanwhile, picked up just one win in four PL fixtures this term (W1, D2, L1), with three of those games producing over 3.5 goals. Chelsea’s only league win so far has come away from home, and it was a tight 3-2 triumph over Norwich City. It is also their only win in their last five PL trips (W1, D2, L2). Both of those stalemates have ended with the same 1-1 scoreline while both of their losses in that span saw them fail to find the back of the net. Overall, the Blues have endured torrid time on the road in 2019, securing only three victories in 11 PL trips since the turn of the year (W3, D2, D6). While all six of those defeats witnessed Chelsea concede two or more goals and score none, each of those three wins has come by a narrow one-goal margin.
