Wolfsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt 30/05/20
30 May 2020
Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head at the Volkswagen Arena, with the home side looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga (BL) H2Hs to four straight games (W2, D1).
The hosts have endured mixed fortunes since Germany’s top-tier competition returned to action following the coronavirus crisis (W1, L1), with both of those results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day open the scoring in the first half of play and add at least another one after the halftime break. The ‘Wolves’ have also struggled to impress at home lately, picking up just a single victory in their last six league fixtures held here (D3, L2). Moreover, Oliver Glasner’s men have failed to beat Frankfurt in both of their previous top-flight home H2Hs (D1, L1), with both of those clashes seeing both teams score in the second half of play.
Meanwhile, the visitors are going through a difficult period, having lost five of their last six BL matches (D1). What’s more, Frankfurt’s immense defensive problems have witnessed them concede over 2.5 goals in five of those six league games, including the last four. Furthermore, Adi Hutter’s players have suffered three consecutive league defeats away from home, allowing at least four goals in each. Surprisingly, Frankfurt are the league’s worst away side, having registered just seven of their total 29 BL points on the road (24.14%). Indeed, ‘Die Adler’ have won only two of 13 BL away games (D1, L10), shipping the opening goal on ten of those occasions.
