Wolfsburg vs Bayer Leverkusen
03 March 2018
Although they have lost two of their previous three Bundesliga matches, Bayer Leverkusen are playing maybe the most attractive football in Germany, and they are set to face out-of-form Wolfsburg side that have failed to win each of their last four games, losing to Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen in the process. The Wolves have beaten Borussia Monchengladbach at home, which is their only victory at the Volkswagen Arena in last five meetings. Meanwhile, the Company XI are looking to extend their 10-game lossless streak away from the BayArena and bolster their chances of reaching the Champions League promotion spot. These two teams are used to play open games with a lot of goals, with eighteen out of their last twenty encounters ended with three or more goals. However, the stakes are high, as both teams desperately need points, especially Wolfsburg, who have to avoid defeat to remain above the relegation zone.
Bruno Labbadia has a great deal of difficulty to field his strongest eleven, as Ignacio Camacho, Kuba Blaszczykowski, John Anthony Brooks, Ohis Felix Uduokhai, Yannick Gerhardt, Marcel Tisserand, and Sebastian Jung are all sidelined because of injuries.
Leverkusen’s coach Heiko Herrlich will see Panagiotis Retsos and Dominik Kohr ruled out due to suspensions.
