Wales vs Belarus 10/09/19
10 September 2019
The two nations that are not enjoying the best of times go head-to-head at the Cardiff City Stadium as Wales take on Belarus for an international friendly fixture. Interestingly, three of their four H2Hs going back to 1998 have produced over 2.5 goals and saw both teams score, with Wales coming off better three times across those clashes (W3, L1).
None of Wales’ ten games across the past 12 months has ended in a stalemate (W4, L6), with half (5) of those matches ending with the identical 1-0 scoreline (W3, L2). Followed by the same trend, none of their last seven home outings have seen the leveled score (W4, L3), with four of those matches featuring over 2.5 goals and witnessing goals on both ends. The one thing that can encourage the home fans is that the hosts won both of their previous home H2Hs with Belarus even though each of those triumphs seeing the Dragons come out on top thanks to a narrow one-goal margin.
Meanwhile, although they go into this encounter off the back of a 2-1 away win over Estonia, the visitors are going through a challenging period having lost all of their preceding four outings. Three of those defeats have seen Belarus fail to find the back of the net, while three witnessed them concede multiple goals too. But, the White Wings have won three of their last six trips (W3, D1, L2), keeping a clean sheet three times across those games while scoring over 1.5 match goals on three occasions too.
