Udinese vs Juventus 24/07/20

24 July 2020

Juventus head to the Dacia Arena to take on Udinese, seeking a sixth consecutive victory in their Serie A H2H meetings.

Six of Udinese’s eight Serie A games since the resumption of football in June have ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W2, D2, L4), with five of those six results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day score in both halves. At home in Serie A, the ‘Friulians’ are winless in seven matches (D4, L3), drawing a blank on four of those occasions. A genuine lack of firepower up front is why only one side has netted fewer home goals than Udinese (15) this season, with the minority (40%) of the 15 Serie A home goals they’ve scored so far coming in the second half of play (six). It will be a daunting prospect for Udinese to improve that record now, as they take on an opponent they’ve failed to score against in six of their last nine top-flight H2Hs held at this venue (D3, L6).

Meanwhile, the visitors have managed to bring a three-game winless run in Serie A to a halt with a 2-1 home triumph over Lazio last time out (D2, L1), which now means that all six of their previous league fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Particularly dangerous after the break, runaway Serie A leaders have netted 80% of their last 20 league goals scored in the second half of play (16). Yet, despite their tendency to step up after halftime, the ‘Bianconeri’ have scored the opening goal (if any) in 76.47% (13) of 17 Serie A trips this campaign. However, Maurizio Sarri’s men have been quite vulnerable after the break this term, with 77.27% of the Serie A away goals they’ve conceded thus far arriving in the second 45 minutes (17/22).
