Turkey vs Greece 31/05/19
31 May 2019
Turkey and Greece will face-off at the Antalya Atatürk Stadyumu in Antalya for an international friendly match.
The hosts’ sudden rise has seen them secure back-to-back wins after failing to pick up a victory in three consecutive games (D1, L2). Interestingly, all three of those failures have seen the Crescent-Stars struggle to find the net, while both of their previous triumphs saw them score over 1.5 match goals and beat their rivals to nil. Also, Turkey’s recent outings have been short of entertainment, with five of their last six games producing under 2.5 goals, with none of those six saw both teams score. If Şenol Güneş’s men win here, it would probably be to nil, considering four of their previous five triumphs saw them beat their rivals with a clean sheet.
Meanwhile, Sky blue-white have endured mixed fortunes over their past five outings (W2, D1, L2), with four of those games featuring under 2.5 goals. Just like Turkey, Greece have failed to provide entertainment to their fans over the past 18 months, as ten of their last 12 matches have produced under 2.5 goals, with just two seeing both teams score. Also, all five of Greece’s previous wins have been accompanied by a clean sheet, with three of them ending with the same 1-0 scoreline. For the Pirate Ship, the majority of the action took place in the first half, with five of the last eight goals scored at their matches coming before the halftime break.
