Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth 30/11/19
30 November 2019
Encouraged by 4-2 comeback win over Olympiacos in the Champions League, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to maintain winning momentum under Jose Mourinho when they take on Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
A poor start to the season has seen the hosts pick up just three wins in the opening 12 rounds of the Premier League (PL) fixtures (W3, D4, L5. But, after sacking Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have snapped a dismal five-game winless PL streak (D3, L2), beating London rivals West Ham 3-2 on the road last time out. Last season’s Champions League runners-up have hit free-scoring form lately, netting over 2.5 match goals in three of their previous four games in all competitions. Unbeaten in four consecutive PL home outings ahead of the kick-off (W2, D2), Tottenham must be lining up another win now. They’ve beaten Bournemouth in all four of their last top-flight home H2Hs ‘to nil,’ scoring 3+ match goals on three of those occasions.
The visitors are unlikely to halt their disastrous streak in north London, given that they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats in the build-up to this clash. Both of those losses have come via the same 2-1 scoreline and saw Bournemouth concede precisely one goal in the final 15 minutes of the first half. Moreover, the Cherries have lost three of their last five PL away matches (W1, D1), scoring one goal or less in four of those games while conceding two or more three times in the process. But, Eddie Howe’s men have delivered fireworks on the road this season, as four of their six PL away games produced over 2.5 goals and saw both teams score.
