Suwon vs Incheon United 23/05/20
23 May 2020
Suwon and Incheon United go head-to-head at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in what promises to be a ‘high-scoring’ K League 1 affair. Four of their last six top-flight H2Hs here have seen over 3.5 goals and both sides on the scoresheet.
The hosts have endured a nightmarish start to the 2020/21 season so far, losing both of their opening K League 1 fixtures by a narrow one-goal margin apiece. In turn, the ‘Suwon Dashers’ have failed to impress at home lately, picking up just two wins in their five previous home matches in all competitions (D1, L2), with three of those four results (win/loss) yielding a single-goal margin. But, they can still find some comfort in the fact they face a side they’ve lost to only once in their last 15 top-flight H2Hs held at this stadium (W11, D3).
The visitors, meanwhile, have not exactly been an entertaining team to watch at the beginning of the new campaign, as both of their opening league fixtures have ended with the identical 0-0 scoreline. Taking into account their away results from the closing stage of the last season, the ‘Mariners’ have now failed to find the net in three consecutive league road trips, with each of those matches featuring under 2.5 total goals (D2, L1). It goes from bad to worse for Incheon, as they now take on a team they’ve beaten only once in their last 20 league H2Hs (D9, L10).
