Strasbourg vs Paris Saint-Germain 06/12/18
06 December 2018
After a stunning 4-1 away triumph over Rennes, Strasbourg will host Paris Saint-Germain to Stade de la Meinau in a match that will see the visitors trying to return to winning ways following a 2-2 road draw with Bordeaux.
Unbeaten in four out of their last nine competitive games, the hosts hope they can repeat last season’s success against the best French team and secure fourth home victory this term. However, it is going to be anything but simple considering their recent form. Although they have lost one out of their previous five Ligue 1 meetings, Le Racing managed just one win while being held to three draws in the process. Thierry Laurey’s men have conceded exactly one goal six times in their last seven league matches, having kept a clean sheet only against Lille on the road.
On the other hand, after 14 consecutive Ligue 1 wins, the defending champions have slipped for the first time in the domestic championship this term, being held to a 2-2 draw to Bordeaux. It was the first time this season the Parisians have conceded more than one goal per match in the league, and it was also the second time they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight Ligue 1 matches. However, Neymar and Co. have extended their outstanding scoring spree this season to 20 games across all competitions. Thomas Tuchel’s side is the only French team to score a minimum of two goals in all of their 15 league clashes, and with 48 goals bagged ahead this round, they have by far the best attacking record in the French top flight.
