Spain vs England 16/10/18

16 October 2018

In the return leg of the UEFA Nations League, Spain will host England at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville, looking to maintain an impressive form.

Since the World Cup fiasco, the Red Fury have notably raised their game under the new head coach Luis Enrique. After clinching a significant 2-1 triumph over their next opponents in the Nations League opener, the 2010 FIFA World Cup winners have demolished Croatia on home soil by six goals to nil. A commanding 4-1 victory over Wales last weekend only confirmed Spain’s fantastic spell, as they now hope to register fourth consecutive success.

On the other hand, the Three Lions have finished fourth in Russia thanks to a 2-0 loss to Belgium in the third-place play-off match. Gareth Southgate’s team then lost to Spain before wrapping up a narrow 1-0 triumph over Switzerland in an international friendly. However, England were held to a 0-0 draw to Croatia last weekend although they’ve had a few sitters to grab the whole prey. Additionally, the 1-time World Cup winners have lost five out of past seven encounters with Spain, winning only once in the process.

Borussia Dortmund in-form striker Paco Alcacer might start from the first minute, as well as, Marco Asensio and Rodrigo Moreno. As for the visitors, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, and Marcus Rashford are expected to compose England’s attacking trident.
