Sheffield Wednesday vs Middlesbrough 20/10/18
20 October 2018
Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough are set for a face-to-face meeting that shall take place at Hillsborough, with the hosts looking to end a 5-game winless streak against direct rivals.
The Owls currently occupy the sixth place with 19 points and a +1 goal difference after the opening 12 league fixtures. Although Jos Luhukay’s side are yet to lose a match in front of the home crowd, they’ve been held to four draws in a total of six home matches, having failed to keep a clean sheet in the process. Additionally, Sheffield Wednesday have played out three straight home draws, with their last victory at Hillsborough dates back to the end of August.
On the other hand, the Smoggies currently trail leaders Sheffield United by three points, as they are tied to the fourth place with 22 points and a +8 goal difference. The Boro have established themselves as one of the teams that allow fewest goals in the Championship, having conceded only six goals so far. Furthermore, with only a 17% of their away matches ended with three or more goals, Tony Pulis’ side have featured in by far the most inefficient games in the league.
As things stand, both managers will be able to field their best starting eleven, as none of the sides have injury problems.
