Sevilla vs Real Valladolid 27/06/20
27 June 2020
Sevilla welcome Real Valladolid to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, looking to extend a winning run in their La Liga H2Hs to five games.
Although unbeaten in eight consecutive La Liga fixtures (W3, D5), the hosts have failed to seal three points in the last three (D3). Still, the Andalusian giants have avoided defeat in seven successive league home encounters (W3, D4), restricting their opponent to a maximum of one goal per match on five of those occasions. In fact, Sevilla have based their success on an air-tight defense that has allowed over 1.5 goals in only four of 15 La Liga home games this term. Los Rojiblancos are likely to maintain their unbeaten home run, considering that they’ve won six of their nine previous top-flight home H2Hs (D2, L1), including the last two. Sevilla’s action usually sparks into life after the break, with the majority (67.65%) of the La Liga home goals (scored/conceded) coming in the second half of play (23/34).
Meanwhile, a 1-1 home draw with Getafe last time out gave Valladolid a third consecutive league match without a win (D2, L1). For Los Pucelanos, goals have been at a premium lately. They’ve scored one goal or less in five of their last six La Liga fixtures, which has also been the case in ten of 11 of their previous league road trips. Valladolid’s hopes of avoiding defeat here will heavily depend on whether or not they can open the scoring. Indeed, Sergio Gonzalez’s men returned just two points from nine La Liga away matches in which they’ve conceded the opening goal (D2, L7).
