Sevilla vs Levante 21/10/19

21 October 2019

Sevilla and Levante will face-off at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this weekend, with the hosts looking to bounce back after a dismal 4-0 away loss to Barcelona ahead of the international break.

The Andalusian giants are enduring a challenging time, having lost three of their last four La Liga (LL) matches (W1), conceding 3+ match goals twice across those losses while drawing on blank on two occasions too. A 3-2 win over Real Sociedad in their last home outing was Sevilla’s first of the season (D1, L1), but they are yet to keep a clean sheet in front of the home supporters. The majority of Los Rojiblancos’ league results (win/loss) have been hard-fought, as five of their five LL outcomes saw the winners of the day come out on top via a single-goal margin (W3, L2). Such a scenario might not happen this time, as Levante were utterly outclassed by Sevilla in both of their LL H2Hs last season (2-6 H, 0-5 A).

The visitors will be desperate to break a four-game winless streak against Sevilla in Andalusia (D2, L2) after securing a 2-1 away win over Leganes last time out. That result has helped Levante bring a four-game LL winless run to an end (D2, L2), and it was also their first league away triumph this season following three straight defeats. Unable to keep a blanks sheet away from home, the Frogs have already shipped eight goals on the road, with only two Spanish sides conceding more away goals so far. Still, Paco Lopez’s men enjoy a somewhat free-scoring form, having found the net in six of the last seven LL outings, bagging over 1.5 match goals four times in the process.
