Sevilla vs Espanyol 12/11/18

After a tight 3-2 victory over Akhisar Belediye in the Europa League, Sevilla will host Espanyol at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, hoping to clinch their fourth consecutive home triumph in La Liga.

With a record of six wins, two draws, and three losses, Los Hispalenses currently occupy the 3rd place with a 4-point deficit to Barcelona. Three out of six Sevilla’s successes have arrived in front of the home supporters, as they’ve outplayed Real Madrid, Celta Vigo, and Huesca. However, Los Rojiblancos have failed to keep a clean sheet in three out of five home games, having allowed four goals in the process. Meanwhile, with 22 goals bagged, the Andalusians have the 2nd-best goalscoring record in the Spanish top flight after Barcelona. Pablo Machin’s players score an average of 2 goals per match although they’ve failed to find the back of the on four occasions so far.

On the other hand, the Periquitos are defying the odds this year, as they currently sit in the 2nd place with a 3-point deficit to their Catalan neighbors. The Blanquiazules have captured six league triumphs and played out three draws while suffering two defeats in the process. But, Rubi’s players are unbeaten in the past six La Liga encounters, having wrapped up four triumphs while being held to two draws. The Catalans have failed to find the back of the net just once this year although they’ve only notched a brace four times in the opening eleven fixtures. Meanwhile, with just 8 goals conceded, Espanyol have the 2nd-best defensive record in the Spanish top flight, having kept a clean sheet on five occasions so far.
