Sevilla vs Celta Vigo 08/10/18

08 October 2018

After suffering a surprising 2-1 defeat to Krasnodar in the Europa League group stage, Sevilla will return to their La Liga commitments, as they look to take on Celta Vigo at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Before that unfortunate loss in Russia, Los Hispalenses have made an outstanding run. In four matches, the Andalusians have scored a total of 18 goals, including three they’ve notched against Real Madrid, as they’ve secured impressive four triumphs. After a tumultuous start of the season that saw them losing twice, to Betis and Getafe, Los Rojiblancos have moved up a gear to climb up to third place, with Pablo Machin urging his players not to panic after losing a 1-goal lead against the Russian outfit a few days ago.

On the other hand, the Sky Blues are frantically trying to end a 4-game La Liga winless streak, as their last win dates back to October 1, when they outscored Atletico Madrid. Since then, the Celtics have been held to three straight draws, to Valladolid, Valencia, and Getafe after losing to Girona in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Antonio Mohamed’s debut match against Sevilla will also be a chance for Celta to end a 3-game losing streak in Andalusia.

Ibrahim Amadou, Maxime Gonalons, Aleix Vidal, Sergio Escudero, and Gabriel Mercado are all sidelined for the hosts, while Robert Mazan and Emre Mor won’t perform for the visitors in all likelihood.
