Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid 26/02/18
26 February 2018
Two struggling teams, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, are set to meet at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this Sunday. The Mattressers have raised their game over the last couple of weeks, winning six times in a row in all competitions. Sevilla was indeed the last team that managed to beat Diego Simeone’s side, and they are hoping to replicate the same scenario. Los Rojiblancos are desperate to catch Valencia that have seven points lead over them, and a potential win against big rivals could boost their hopes of reaching the Champions League promotion spot. Although their performances are far from convincing, Atletico Madrid are currently occupying the second place in La Liga, and after a disaster in the Champions League group stages, they are fully concentrated on closing the gap on Barcelona. Considering the fact the visitors have only conceded nine goals this season and Sevilla’s inefficient finishing, one goal could decide the winner.
With Franco Vazquez serving a one-match suspension, and Simon Kjaer, Jose Mena, Nicolas Pareja, Johannes Geis, and Sebastien Corchia all injured, Vincenzo Montella will have a tough job to choose his preferred starting lineup.
Stefan Savic and Lucas Hernandez are likely to miss Atletico’s trip to Andalusia, as both are sidelined due to injuries.
