Seattle Sounders will seek revenge for a disastrous 3-0 defeat in April’s reverse fixture when they meet Major League Soccer debutants San Diego FC at Lumen Field.

Despite an underwhelming three-game stretch (W1, D1, L1), Seattle Sounders head into proceedings within the Western Conference playoff zone, boasting a six-point lead over 10th-placed Houston Dynamo. However, the hosts would be well-advised to hit the ground running going into the crunch period, and the impending home return to Lumen Field should help them do just that. Each win in that sequence saw them score 2+ goals, including a 2-1 win at St Louis City on their last MLS road trip. However, that result only served to end San Diego’s sobering run of three successive league losses away from home – all of which saw them concede 2+ goals. Nonetheless, they’ve been fun to watch, with their last five MLS away games producing 3+ goals.
