Real Madrid vs Real Betis 18/05/19
18 May 2019
Real Madrid and Real Betis go head-to-head at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for their final La Liga fixture of the season.
After a disappointing league campaign, the hosts will finish third in the table. Los Blancos are enduring a challenging period having suffered two defeats in their last four LL outings (W1, D1, L2) although both of them have come away from home. However, they have gone from four straight home losses across all competitions to five consecutive triumphs, scoring over 1.5 match goals across all of those wins. Also, all four of Real Madrid’s previous LL home clashes have produced over 2.5 goals, with three of them featuring goals on both ends. Interestingly, even though they have conceded 44 league goals this term, just 13 of them have come at this venue (29.55%), keeping ten clean sheets in 18 LL home games so far.
Meanwhile, stuck in mid-table, the visitors go into this meeting off the back of a 2-1 home win over Huesca that has brought their five-game winless run to an end (D1, L4). Still, Los Verdiblancos have lost all four of their previous LL away games, allowing over 1.5 match goals three times in the process. Although they outplayed Real Madrid at this venue last season, the Andalusians have lost seven consecutive away H2H clashes with Los Blancos before that, conceding 2+ match goals each time. Far more comfortable at home, Quique Setién’s men have picked up just 18 of their total 47 LL points on the road (38.30%) this campaign, with only five of their 13 league wins coming away from home.
