Real Madrid will look to post a third consecutive La Liga triumph over Deportivo Alaves when the two sides lock horns at the Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium this midweek.

The hosts have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with since the resumption of football in June, winning all seven of their post-pandemic La Liga matches to move four points clear of Barcelona at the summit. Impressively, five of those seven victories have been accompanied by a clean sheet, although both of Real’s last league successes came as a result of a converted spot-kick. In turn, Zinedine Zidane’s men have racked up five straight La Liga home triumphs, shutting out their opponent on four of those occasions. Additionally, only one team has scored fewer away goals than the ‘Babazorros’ (12), with Juan Muniz’s players managing a miserable average of 0.70 goals scored per La Liga away fixture. Particularly ineffective before the break, Alaves have netted the division’s low two first-half goals on the road this term.
