RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt 25/08/19
25 August 2019
Sunday’s Bundesliga (BL) action starts at the Red Bull Arena, as RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head in a massive league showdown.
A commanding 4-0 away triumph over the returnees, Union Berlin, in the opening BL fixture has seen the hosts put an end to their three-game league winless run (D2, L1). Although unbeaten in their last seven BL home games, the Red Bulls have secured just three wins in that period (W3, D4). While three of those stalemates ended with the same 0-0 scoreline, all three of Leipzig’s previous BL home triumphs have seen the score 2+ match goals and restrict their opponents to a maximum of one goal per match. Encouraged by a run of good home form, Leipzig will now try to extend their unbeaten home streak against Frankfurt to four games (W2, D1).
Meanwhile, Martin Hinteregger’s first-minute goal against TSG Hoffenheim last time out has helped the visitors start the new BL campaign off on the right foot. However, Die Adler go into this encounter off the back of a 1-0 away loss to Strasbourg in the Europa League playoffs, which was their third loss in the last five away games across all competitions (W2, L3). Adi Hutter’s men have not only failed to pick up a win in their previous three BL trips (D1, L2), but they’ve conceded over 4.5 match goals in both of their failures in that span, scoring precisely one goal per match in all three of those games.
