Peru vs Colombia 10/06/19
10 June 2019
Two South American nations go head-to-head for the final test ahead of the upcoming Copa America, as Peru welcome Colombia to the Estadio Monumental in Lima.
The hosts have struggled to bounce back following a disappointing World Cup performance, having secured just three wins in nine post-World Cup outings (W3, D1, L5). Interestingly, all five of Peru’s defeats since returning from Russia have seen them concede over 1.5 match goals while all three of their triumphs in that period saw them beat their opponents to nil. Also, La Blanquirroja’s recent games have been short of entertainment, with five of their previous six matches featuring under 2.5 goals, with just two of them seeing both teams score.
Meanwhile, the visitors swept Panama aside with a commanding 3-0 win a few days ago, which was Colombia’s fifth victory in their last five outings. Notably, three of those triumphs have seen Los Cafeteros score three or more goals, with seven of their previous 12 goals coming after the halftime break. Additionally, Colombia’s last defeat against Peru dates back to 2001, after which they’ve managed to rack up a 15-game unbeaten run in H2Hs (W6, D9). La Tricolor’s post-World Cup matches have not been short of entertainment, with five of seven of their games over the past ten months producing over 2.5 goals with four of them saw both teams score.
