Parma vs Fiorentina 06/07/20

06 July 2020

Parma welcome Fiorentina to the Stadio Ennio Tardini, looking to bring the unbeaten run in their Serie A H2Hs to four (W2, D1). Interestingly, all of those clashes have featured one goal or less in the first half and under 2.5 in total.

All four of Parma’s previous Serie A games have seen the first goal arrive inside the opening 20 minutes of play and both teams score, with the last three producing over 2.5 total goals, too (W1, D1, L2). But, the ‘Crusaders’ have failed to impress at home lately, picking up just two wins from their last seven league matches held at this stadium (D1, L4), with five of those six results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day keep a clean sheet. Indeed, the Stadio Ennio Tardini has rarely witnessed high-scoring contests this season, as a league-low four of Parma’s 14 Serie A fixtures featured over 2.5 goals (28.57%).

In the meantime, the visitors head to Parma on a run of five league games without a win (D3, L2), scoring under 1.5 goals in each of those encounters. Also, for Fiorentina, goals have been in short supply away from home lately. The ‘Viola’ have scored one goal or less in six of their last eight Serie A road trips, with half (five) of the ten goals they scored across those matches coming inside the opening half an hour. But, a lack of concentration after the halftime break has seen 66.67% (14) of the 21 Serie A away goals conceded come in the second half of play. Also, Fiorentina’s inability to respond after shipping the opening goal has seen them return just three points from six league away fixtures in which they’ve conceded first (W1, L6).
