Paris Saint-Germain vs Guingamp 20/01/19

20 January 2019

Paris Saint-Gremain welcome Guingamp to Parc des Princes looking to get their revenge on last week’s disastrous Coupe de France elimination.

The Parisians have managed to bounce back immediately upon a shock Coupe de France elimination to their next rivals, securing a routine 3-0 away win over Amiens last weekend. Remaining the only unbeaten side in the French Ligue 1 (W16, D2), the reigning holders are comfortably topping the table with a 13-point lead over second-placed Lille. Thomas Tuchel’s men have wrapped up a maximum of 27 points in nine home outings this term, scoring 28 goals on an average of 3.11 goals per match. PSG were the ones to break the deadlock in eight of their nine L1 home clashes, scoring over 2.5 goals per match six times in the process. What’s more, PSG have conceded just three goals at Parc des Princes so far, which is by far the best defensive record in the French top tier.

On the other hand, the visitors come into this meeting after a 2-1 home win over Rennes, which was their fourth win in their last five competitive games (W4, L1), but they are still rooted to the bottom of the table. Having lost three of their previous four road trips, Las Costarmoricains remain one of the worst road squads in Ligue 1 (W2, D2, L6). Only one team has shipped more goals on the road than Guingamp (18) this campaign, with Jocelyn Gourvennec’s players conceding over 1.5 goals per match six times on ten road trips so far. Furthermore, Guingamp’s problems in the final third have seen them score just six goals away from home this term, failing to hit the target on five occasions.

Provisional line-up – Paris Saint-Germain:

Gk: Areola Defense: Bernat – Thiago Silva – Marquinhos – Meunier Midfield: Draxler – Verratti – Dani Alves Attack: Di Maria – Mbappe – Cavani

Provisional line-up – Guingamp:

Gk: Caillard Defense: Rebocho – Kerbrat – Eboa Eboa – Larsson Midfield: Ludovic Blas – Didot – N’Gbakoto Attack: Rodelin – Marcus Thuram – Roux
