Nurnberg vs Paris Saint-Germain 21/07/19
21 July 2019
Nurnberg and Paris Saint-Germain go head-to-head at the Max-Morlock-Stadion for a friendly meeting.
It will be Nurnberg’s sixth match in a pre-season, with none of their previous warm-up matches ending in a draw (W2, L3). Notably, all of those clashes have produced over 2.5 goals, although just two have seen both teams score. Moreover, all nine of Nurnberg’s previous outings have seen three or more goals. Frustratingly for them, two of three defeats Der Club suffered this summer have come against teams featuring top tier in their respective countries (Rapid Vienna and Basel), with Damir Canadi’s men conceding six goals while scoring barely one across those meetings.
The Parisians have started their preparations with a comfortable 6-1 win over another German side, Dynamo Dresden. It was the fourth of PSG’s last five games that have seen both teams score and fourth that has produced over 2.5 goals too. When placed as the visitors, the reigning French holders have endured mixed fortunes recently (W2, L3), with all of those matches featuring over 2.5 goals and witnessing goals at both ends. Interestingly, all four of Paris Saint-Germain’s last games have featured goals in both halves, with two of them producing two or more goals before the halftime whistle.
