Napoli vs Lazio 11/02/18
11 February 2018
The Serie A leaders Napoli will face Lazio this Saturday looking to extend their winning streak to eight games. Stadio San Paulo proved to be an unconquerable fortress this season, as only Juventus have managed to walk away with three points. The Light Blues have a unique opportunity to seal their first league title after almost 30 years, and this match could be crucial on that journey.
On the other hand, Lazio have had a pretty successful first half of the season, as they had the best Serie A start in their recent history. After two consecutive defeats against Milan and Genoa, the Biancocelesti are seeking a victory to enhance their Champions League promotion hopes, but it will be far from easy. In their first league encounter at the Stadio Olimpico, the home team was destroyed 4-1 by the visitors, and Simone Inzaghi is determined to avoid the same scenario now.
Faouzi Ghoulam and Arkadiusz Milik are both sidelined due to a knee injury, but Mauricio Sarri’s attacking trident – Dries Martens, Jose Callejon, and Lorenzo Insigne are ready to test Strakosha.
Lazio will have their best player, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, back after the suspension, the same goes for the captain Senad Lulic. Davide Di Gennaro and Mauricio are still out, while Federico Marchetti won’t return to the field anytime soon after falling out of Inzaghi’s plan.
