Manchester United vs Sevilla 14/03/18
14 March 2018
Thanks to a couple of David De Gea’s amazing saves, Manchester United have managed to keep a clean sheet against Sevilla in the first leg. Now, they have a big chance to advance to the next stage at the Old Trafford, and Jose Mourinho’s side is determined to extend a good form after winning the derby match against Liverpool last weekend by two goals to one. The Red Devils have won five home games in a row scoring eleven goals in the process, while Sevilla lost just once in their previous six away encounters. The Premier League giants are fully focused on the Champions League after losing any possibility of closing the gap on the city rivals Manchester City in the national championship. On the other hand, Sevilla’s only hope of saving a disappointing season is to get as far as possible in Europe, as they don’t stand a chance against Valencia in the Champions League promotion race.
Mourinho has a lot of problems with injured players. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, and Phil Jones won’t be available due to injuries, while the appearances of Marcos Rojo and Anthony Martial still hangs in the balance. Vincenzo Montella will have almost his entire squad ready except Jesus Navas and Sebastian Corchia.
