Manchester City vs Everton 15/12/18
15 December 2018
Manchester City welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium, with Pep Guardiola urging his players to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Chelsea last weekend.
The Citizens though look to post their ninth home victory in the Premier League this term, as they reside the only team in the English top tier competition to secure a maximum of 24 points in front of the local crowd. With 30 goals bagged at home on an average of 3.75 goals scored per match, the reigning holders hold by far the best goalscoring record in the Premier League. What’s more, Guardiola’s men have conceded just five goals at Etihad this term, keeping a clean sheet three times in the run. Eight of last ten Man City’s games across all competitions have produced over 2.5 goals, with the Citizens notching two goals per match nine times in the process.
Winless in their previous three Premier League meetings, the visitors come into this encounter following two straight draws to Watford and Newcastle United, both at home. Struggling for consistency ever since the start of the season and hampered by the indifferent form in the past four weeks, the Toffees currently sit seventh with a ten-point deficit to the Champions League promotion zone. Furthermore, the Blues have lost three times on seven road trips, having secured just one victory during the run. On top of that, Marco Silva’s players have conceded at least one goal seven times away from home this campaign, allowing a minimum of two goals four times in the process.
