Manchester City vs Burnley 20/10/18

20 October 2018

Manchester City will host Burnley at the Etihad Stadium, looking to extend a 4-game home winning streak in the Premier League.

The holders are the only team in the league to clinch a maximum of four home victories, having defeated Huddersfield Town, Newcastle United, Fulham, and Brighton in the process. Moreover, the Citizens are the only side to score at least two goals in each of their home games so far, alongside Bournemouth. Pep Guardiola’s team are also one of two clubs that are yet to concede two goals in one Premier League encounter, with Liverpool being the second one.

Meanwhile, with a record of two wins, two draws, and four defeats, the Clarets are tied for 12th place. Sean Dyche’s side scored two or more goals in two out of four away clashes, having suffered a pair of losses, while clinching one victory in the process. However, Burnley have never managed to beat Manchester City on the road, with the Citizens winning the past three encounters at the Etihad Stadium, notching a total of 9 goals in the process.

Guardiola won’t have Claudio Bravo, Eliaquim Mangala, Ilkay Gündogan, Danilo, and Kevin De Bruyne at his disposal as all are struggling with injuries. As for the visitors, Nick Pope, Robbie Brady, and Ben Gibson are doubts.
