Man City vs Leicester City 11/02/18
11 February 2018
Manchester City and Leicester are set to meet for the third time this season, but it will be their first encounter at the Etihad.
The Citizens have won their last two head-to-head games at the King Power Stadium, both in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
After a 1-1 draw against Everton back in August, City have won 18 games at home in a row in all competitions. They scored 17 goals in their last 5 home Premier League games, while Leicester have conceded 20 goals on the road. The Foxes are experiencing great troubles with Riyad Mahrez, who decided to boycott the club after they obstructed his transfer to the ranks of City on the transfer deadline day. The captain, Wes Morgan is still out due to injury. Therefore, the match against the best EPL side couldn’t have come at a worse time for Claude Puel.
Pep Guardiola is deprived of the services of Benjamin Mendy, Gabriel Jesus, and David Silva, while Leroy Sane’s involvement is still questionable. However, the newcomer, Aymeric Laporte, could start the game alongside Vincent Kompany.
Following the rather disappointing draw against Burnley last Saturday, the home team is eager to hurt the unbalanced visitors, so Leicester will have to put maximum efforts to avoid humiliation.
