Mallorca vs Levante 10/07/20

10 July 2020

Levante will try to extend an unbeaten run in the La Liga H2Hs with Mallorca to four games (W2, D1) when the two sides meet at the Visit Mallorca Estadi this midweek.

The hosts have been struggling to find their footing since the resumption of football in June, picking up just one win from seven La Liga fixtures in the post-pandemic period (D1, L5). Interestingly, five of the six results (win/loss) during that seven-game sequence produced at least a two-goal margin and saw the winner on the day open the scoring inside the first 30 minutes of play and score at least once in the second half, too. It’s pretty much been ‘all or nothing’ for Mallorca at home in La Liga since early November. In fact, just one of their last ten league home matches has ended in a draw (W4, D1, L5), which has been true in one of their six previous top-flight H2Hs held at this stadium (W4, L1).

On the other hand, the visitors have lost only one from seven La Liga outings since the football’s restart (W2, D4), with five of those games featuring under 2.5 goals. However, the ‘Frogs’ have failed to impress away from home lately, securing just one win in their last seven league trips (D2, L4). That’s mainly thanks to a lack of firepower up front that saw Levante score one goal or less in six of those seven clashes. Particularly ponderous in the attack in the early stages, Paco Lopez’s men have found the net inside the opening 15 minutes of play in only two of 17 La Liga away encounters this season.
