Luxembourg vs Madagascar 03/06/19

3 June 2019

Luxembourg and Madagascar will face-off at Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg, which will be the first historic meeting between these two nations.

For the hosts, goals have been at a premium lately. They have netted one goal or less in four of their last six outings, failing to pick up a win across all of those four games (D1, L3). However, Les Lions Rouges can be encouraged by a decent home form having secured four triumphs in their previous six home matches (W4, L2), while beating their rivals to nil three times in the process. Also, four of those games have produced over 2.5 goals, although just two of them have seen both teams score.

Meanwhile, Madagascar’s drop-off in form has seen them go from three consecutive games without a loss (W2, D1) to back-to-back defeats, in which they’ve scored one goal and conceded five. Interestingly, all three of Barea’s wins in the previous 13 months have ended with the same 1-0 scoreline, with Nicolas Dupuis’ men leading at the halftime break in all three. Unprolific in the final third but stubborn at the back, they have struggled to provide entertainment to their fans in the past 12 months, as six of their nine games in that period have featured under 1.5 goals.
