Liverpool vs Fulham 11/11/18
11 November 2018
After a disastrous 2-0 defeat to Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League, Liverpool will host Fulham at Anfield looking to bounce back immediately.
Although the Reds currently occupy the 3rd place in the Premier League as one of three teams that are yet to lose a league match, their performance seems to be far away from the one of last season. The Merseysiders were held to three draws in the previous five EPL games, including the last weekend’s 1-1 tie with Arsenal. Additionally, apart from a 4-1 victory over Cardiff City and a 4-0 demolition of Crvena Zvezda, Jurgen Klopp’s players have failed to notch a brace in the past seven competitive matches. Liverpool score an average of 1.91 goals per match, having missed to finding the back of the net just once in the opening eleven league fixtures. On the other hand, they concede an average of 0.45 goals per game, having managed to keep a clean sheet six times so far.
As for the visitors, they are nailed to the bottom of the table with a record of one win, two draws, and eight defeats, and an embarrassing -18 goal difference. Apart from a 2-2 draw with Brighton, the Cottagers have suffered a loss in all five remaining road meetings, having conceded a total of 16 goals in the process. With 29 goals allowed, the returnees have by far the worst defensive record in the English top flight, as they reside as the only team that failed to keep a clean sheet. Speaking of their attacking displays, Fulham score an average of 1 goal per match, having failed to find the back of the net five times so far. Moreover, the Lily Whites have lost the previous five Premier League encounters, and another disaster could see Slavisa Jokanovic parting company with the club.
