Levante vs Real Sociedad 10/11/18

10 November 2018

Levante prepare to host Real Sociedad at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia as they hope to extend an impressive 5-game lossless streak in La Liga.

With a record of five wins, two draws, and four defeats, the Granotas currently sit in the 7th place with a 3-point deficit to the Champions League promotion zone. After a disappointing start of the season, the Valencia-based side notably raised their performance, as they’ve clinched four successive La Liga triumphs before playing out a 1-1 draw with Villarreal last weekend. However, Levante’s principal problem relates to their defensive displays, as they’ve so far allowed 16 goals, with 11 of them arriving at home, which is the 2nd-worst record in the Spanish top flight. Paco Lopez’s players score an average of 1.55 goals per match, having managed to notch a brace six times in the opening eleven fixtures, which is a better goalscoring record than that of Real Madrid.

On the other hand, the Whites and Blues are struggling this season, as they reside in the 13th place with a record of three wins, four draws, and four defeats. Moreover, the Basque team only secured one triumph in the previous six La Liga clashes, having lost twice while being held to three draws in the process. With just twelve goals scored so far, the Royal have one of the weakest goalscoring records in the Spanish top flight, as they bag an average of 1.09 goals per match. Although Asier Garitano’s players managed four braces so far, they’ve failed to find the back of the net on four occasions, which puts them on par with Leganes, Getafe, and Villarreal. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad kept a clean sheet three times this year, but they’ve allowed a minimum of two goals in five encounters, which is the 2nd-worst in La Liga.
