Levante vs Atletico Madrid 19/05/19

19 May 2019

Levante and Atletico Madrid go head-to-head at the Estadi Ciutat de València for the final match of the season.

A run of good form (W3, D1, L1) has seen the hosts keeping their La Liga status as they come into this meeting after pulling off back-to-back league wins. Also, Levante’s recent rise has seen them go from two straight LL home defeats to five games without a loss (W2, D3), with all five of their previous LL home outings featuring over 3.5 goals. Interestingly, all three of their last LL home stalemates have ended with the same 2-2 scoreline, while Granotas scored precisely four goals in both of their previous home triumphs. Encouraged by the recent results, Paco López’s men are eager to bring a three-game losing run against Atletico to a halt. Notably, they have struggled to find the net in all three of their previous LL H2Hs with the Madrid giants.

Meanwhile, the visitors have already secured second place even though they’ve failed to wrap up three points in both of their last LL fixtures (D1, L1). Additionally, Atletico’s indifferent road form (W3, L3) could be a setback for Los Colchoneros, especially given the fact they’ve struggled to score in all three of their previous away losses. Also, just one of Los Rojiblancos’ ten LL away games in 2019 has ended in a stalemate (W5, D1, L4), with only three of those clashes featuring over 2.5 goals. Interestingly, apart from a 1-1 draw with Sevilla back in January, all nine of Atletico’s remaining league road games since the turn of the year have not seen both teams score.
