Leicester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion 27/02/19

27 February 2019

The two out-of-form teams go toe-to-toe at the King Power Stadium as Leicester City tackle Brighton & Hove Albion.

Already reconciled with the fact they won’t be playing in Europe next year, the hosts have tumbled down to 12th spot after losing five of their last six PL meetings (D1, L6). In that period, the Foxes have scored one goal or less on five occasions while conceding over 1.5 goals per match four times in the process. What’s more, Claude Puel’s men have lost four successive PL home battles, including the one to Crystal Palace last weekend. Leicester’s main problem is that they’ve managed to net 2+ match goals just four times in 13 PL contests at the King Power Stadium, scoring 14 goals overall at a miserly average of 1.08 goals scored every game. On the other hand, Puel’s players have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven consecutive home encounters across all competitions, allowing over 1.5 goals per match three times.

Meanwhile, a poor haul of two points in their last six PL outings (D2, L4) has shipped the visitors down to 16th place as they now have to worry about their top-flight status. Currently sitting just three points above the relegation-threatened Southampton, the Seagulls are desperate to bring a frustrating three-game league losing run to an end, but looking at their recent road displays, it seems like a daunting prospect. Not only Brighton picked up just one point on their last five PL road trips (D1, L4), but they have also conceded 2+ match goals four times in the process. Moreover, only two sides have suffered more losses away from home than Brighton (9) with Chris Hughton’s men securing merely two wins in 13 PL road clashes (W2, D2, L9).
