Leicester City vs Arsenal 10/11/19
10 November 2019
Leicester City welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium for the Premier League (PL) upper-half-of-the-table clash.
Having racked up a three-game PL winning run ahead of the kick-off, the hosts will be looking to extend a six-point gap on fifth-placed Arsenal and increase their chances of clinching a top-four finish. After a goalless draw with Wolverhampton in the opening home match of the season, the Foxes have pulled off four straight triumphs, scoring at least two goals in each while keeping a clean sheet once. Leicester’s home action usually sparks into life after the break, with eight of 12 PL home goals scored so far coming in the second half. Brendan Rodgers has every reason to hope for another success here, as Leicester won two of their last PL home H2Hs with the Gunners, netting precisely three goals per match and conceding one in total.
Meanwhile, the visitors have had problems holding onto a lead recently, having let a lead slip in each of their previous four matches in all competitions (D4). What’s more, the North Londoners have failed to pick up a PL away victory in four of their last trips (D2, L2), conceding the opener in three of those fixtures. Far more comfortable at the Emirates, the Gunners have registered just 29% of their total league points on the road (five of 17). Arsenal’s problems away from home have everything to do with their fragile defense that has struggled to withstand attacking plays they’ve been up against in seven of their last eight PL road trips. Another potential worry for Unai Emery is that his players have bagged just five of a total of 16 PL goals away from home (31%).
