Relegation-threatened Leganes welcome La Liga top-four contenders to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque this midweek.

Winless in five La Liga matches (D2, L3), the hosts’ hopes of avoiding relegation sinks slowly as they enter this round nine points adrift of 17th-placed Celta Vigo. A genuine lack of firepower up front has seen Leganes score under 1.5 goals in nine of their last ten league fixtures, as they continue to lament a league-low average of 0.75 goals scored per La Liga game this season. Interestingly, though, despite only 50% (eight) of their 16 league home games this term have produced over 2.5 goals, 11 have featured at least one before the break. The one hope for Los Pepineros is that they’ve avoided defeat in four of their five previous league games held at this venue (W1, D3), which has been the case in their last two home H2Hs (W1, D1). 

As for the visitors, they’ve yet to taste defeat in five La Liga games since the league’s restart, but they take the field after playing out four consecutive draws (W1). As a result, they are now unbeaten in nine straight league matches (W3, D6), with six of them seeing both teams score. Even though they’ve pulled off just a single win from their last six La Liga road trips (D3, L2), Los Rojiblancos found the back of the net in each, with four of those encounters featuring over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring. Sevilla are likely to score in the first half if they hit the net here, given that 60.87% (14) of their 23 league away goals scored this campaign came before the break.
