Lazio vs SPAL 04/11/18
04 November 2018
After a disastrous 3-0 home defeat to Inter Milan earlier this week, Lazio will host SPAL at the Stadio Olimpico, hoping to bounce back instantly.
Unlike last season where they were showing some spectacular pieces of football on a regular basis, the Biancocelesti are struggling to maintain consistency during the ongoing campaign. With a record of six wins and four defeats, the Eagles currently occupy the 5th place, having collected a total of 18 points so far. Although Simone Inzaghi’s players failed to notch a goal in just one home match, they’ve scored barely one brace at Olimpico so far, which puts them on a par with their forthcoming opponents. The capital-based club already allowed six goals in five home encounters, having kept a clean sheet two times in the process. Five out of ten Lazio’s league clashes have ended with three or more goals, as three of them took place in Rome.
On the other hand, after a promising start of the season, the Biancazzurri have registered six defeats in eight Serie A clashes, as they currently reside in the 15th place. Gli Estensi performed a stunning 2-0 triumph over Lazio’s arch-rivals AS Roma a fortnight ago, after which they’ve suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat to Frosinone at home. Gli Spallini have failed to score a goal in four out of the opening ten league meetings, having notched one brace so far, which is the weakest goalscoring record of all Italian teams. Just 40% of SPAL’s games have produced more than two goals, with Emilia-Romagna-based side losing all of those encounters. Leonardo Semplici’s players have managed to keep a clean sheet twice in the past five road matches, which saw them taking a whole prey on both occasions.
