Juventus vs SPAL 28/09/19
28 September 2019
Juventus will take on SPAL at the Allianz Arena this weekend for a ‘David versus Goliath’ type of fixture.
Although the reigning holders won four of the opening five Serie A (SA) fixtures (W4, D1), each of those triumphs has seen them come out on top thanks to a narrow one-goal margin. Atypically for Juventus, they’ve failed to preserve a blank slate on home turf this term having already allowed six home goals. But, six of nine league goals the Bianconeri have scored came at this venue, with the hosts netting at least one goal in all four first halves of the SA home action played so far. Nothing should change here, as the Turin giants outplayed SPAL in both of their previous SA H2Hs here, netting 2+ match goals each time.
As for the visitors, a trip to the Allianz Stadium has come in the worst possible moment for them, as they’ve lost both of their last SA outings, allowing precisely three goals in each while scoring barely one in total. Rooted deep in the relegation territory, Gli Spallini lost four of five SA games this term (W1, L4), conceding at least one first-half goal on four occasions too. Interestingly, none of SPAL’s last eight SA trips has ended in a draw (W3, L5), with five of those matches producing over 2.5 goals. Curiously, just three games in that sequence have seen both teams score, with five of them witnessing Leonardo Semplici’s side concede at least two goals.
