Juventus vs Inter Milan 24/07/19

24 July 2019

The Italian arch-rivals will face-off at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center this midweek as Juventus tackle Inter Milan in the 2019 International Champions Cup.

The reigning Serie A holders have started their ICC campaign off on the wrong foot, having suffered a 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, stretching their winless run to six games (D3, L3). While all three of those draws ended with the same 1-1 scoreline, the Bianconeri have conceded two or more goals in two of those three defeats, failing to find the net on two occasions in the process. Frustratingly for Max Allegri, his players have struggled to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 outings, although they’ve found the net nine times across the same period. However, the last time that Juventus managed to score over 1.5 goals per match dates back to late April when they outscored Fiorentina 2-1, which is also their last victory.

On the other hand, the Milanese giants have endured mixed fortunes in their previous five games (W3, L2), with three of those matches producing over 2.5 goals and seeing both teams score. Still, they go into this massive clash off the back of a narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester United in their opening ICC match. It was the first time since a goalless draw with Udinese back in May that the Nerazzurri failed to hit the target. Still, if Inter do manage to pull off a win here, they will probably score more than one goal, as all of their last nine triumphs saw them net 2+ match goals.
