Juventus vs Bologna 20/10/19

20 October 2019

Heavy pre-match favorites, Juventus welcome Bologna to the Allianz Stadium looking to stretch their winning run in Serie A (SA) H2Hs to seven straight games.

A 2-1 away victory over Inter Milan just before the international break has helped Juventus to secure the top spot in the table for the first time this season. It was the Bianconeri’s fourth consecutive league win, with three of those triumphs ending with the identical 2-1 scoreline. It seems that Maurizio Sarri’s men need to concede the opener to spark into life, as each of those wins saw them coming from behind to claim three points. Although the reigning SA holders have failed to keep a clean sheet in two of three league games at home, they’ve managed to undo the damage by scoring at least one goal in all six halves of the home SA action played so far (W3). They will be looking to extend their winning home run in all competitions to five games when they take on out-of-form Bologna side who they’ve beaten in six straight SA H2Hs here.

A strong start to the season (W2, D1) now seems like ancient history for the visitors, who have failed to pick up a win in four successive league games ahead of this trip (D2, L2). Aside from a thrilling 4-3 triumph over Brescia, all three of Bologna’s remaining SA away matches have featured under 2.5 goals, with only one seeing both teams score (D2, L1). A lack of goals could be Bologna’s main issue here, especially as they’ve failed to find the back of the net in their last three competitive H2H meetings with Juventus. In fact, the Greyhounds have drawn a blank in six of eight of their previous H2Hs in all competitions, conceding 2+ match goals six times in the process (D1, L7).
