Juventus vs AC Milan 11/11/19

11 November 2019

Juventus will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 Serie A (SA) season when they take on arch-rivals AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium this weekend.

The perennial champions have hit the ground running in the national championship this term, winning nine of the opening 11 SA fixtures (D2). Both of those draws have come away from home, with the Bianconeri securing five wins in as many SA home outings so far. Interestingly, four of those home triumphs have seen Juventus beat their opponents by a single goal margin, with three of them ending with the same 2-1 scoreline. Lethal in front in enemy’s third, Maurizio Sarri’s players have scored a minimum of one goal in all ten halves of the SA home football played so far. The reigning holders are likely to score at least twice here too, as they’ve netted 2+ match goals in seven of their last eight competitive H2Hs with Milan, home and away (W8).

A few seasons ago, it would be a real clash of titans, but the Rossoneri have been struggling for form and consistency this season, as they currently sit just five points clear of the relegation territory. Stefano Pioli’s men have suffered three defeats in five SA trips to date (W2), with all of those results (win/loss) coming via a single-goal margin. Slow starters when away from home, the Milanese giants have scored just one of five SA away goals in the first half, allowing their rivals to break the deadlock on three occasions. Additionally, Milan’s last SA win over Juventus in Turin dates back to 2011, with the Rossoneri losing all eight of their previous league trips to the Allianz Stadium.
