Internazionale vs Parma 27/10/19

27 October 2019

Backed by a 2-0 home triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, Internazionale will be looking to carry winning momentum into their Serie A (SA) meeting with Parma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The hosts have enjoyed a truly remarkable start to the season under Antonio Conte, having picked up six consecutive SA triumphs before losing 2-1 to Juventus at home. The Nerazzurri have taken no time to bounce back though, securing a tense 4-3 away triumph at Sassuolo last time out. If the Milanese giants win here, they could as well keep a clean sheet, as each of their three SA home triumphs saw them beat their rivals to nil. But, Inter have failed to beat Parma in three of their previous top-flight H2Hs here (D2, L1), conceding at least one goal in all of those clashes. Another potential worry for Conte is that his men have netted exactly one goal in three of four SA home outings this term, with five of seven home goals they’ve scored so far coming inside the first 45 minutes.

The visitors have endured mixed fortunes so far this season (W4, L4), with half (4) of their SA matches producing over 3.5 goals and seeing both teams score. After a comfortable 3-1 triumph over Udinese on the road, the Crusaders have lost both of their subsequent away fixtures without scoring a single goal. Parma’s inability to keep a clean sheet could be a major problem for the traveling side, who conceded at least one goal in seven of eight SA games so far. It could be vital for Parma to open the scoring here, as they’ve lost four of five league matches that saw them concede the opener (W1).
