Internazionale vs AS Roma 07/12/19
7 December 2019
Internazionale and AS Roma come face-to-face at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with the home side looking to halt a three-game winless streak in top-flight H2Hs (D3).
Last weekend’s 2-1 home triumph over SPAL extended Inter’s winning streak in Serie A (SA) to five straight games and saw them leapfrog Juventus at the top of the table. Notably, the hosts have won all but two of their 14 SA outings this term (W12, D1, L1), with both of those failures coming at home. Curiously, only 41% of their total SA goals scored have arrived on home turf (13 of 31), with Inter failing to win first-half of SA home action played in three of seven league matches held here. It was also the case in their last three SA home H2Hs with Roma. The Nerazzurri have not only failed to pick up a single win across those three clashes (D2, L1), but they were also trailing at halftime on each of those occasions.
The visitors have, meanwhile, seen an upturn in their results recently, as they’ve racked up a three-game winning run in all competitions after losing back-to-back competitive matches. Impressively, all of those above victories have seen the Giallorossi score precisely three goals and keep a second-half clean sheet. Moreover, Paulo Fonseca’s men have won four of their last six SA road trips (W4, D1, L1), netting at least two goals three times. Interestingly, three of those matches have seen a goal scored/conceded in stoppage time, with ten of a total of 14 goals in that period coming in the second half (71%).
