Internazional vs Napoli 13/02/20
13 February 2020
Internazionale will welcome Napoli to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-finals tie.
Encouraged by a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory over AC Milan, the hosts will look to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 games (W6, D4). Free-scoring Inter have found the back of the net in all ten of their previous competitive outings, scoring over 1.5 goals on six of those occasions. Furthermore, Antonio Conte’s men have won four of their past six home fixtures (D2), netting precisely four goals per match three times in the process. But, the ‘clean sheet theme’ seems to be out of the picture at the moment, as the Nerazzurri have failed to shut out their rivals in each of their previous five home matches, conceding precisely one second-half goal in four.
On the other hand, the visitors’ three-game winning run was brought to a halt last weekend as they succumbed 3-2 to Lecce at home. Curiously, all three of Napoli’s previous games have seen over 2.5 second-half goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Napoli’s indifferent away form can be a major influence here, given that they’ve won in just three of their past nine road trips (D4, L2). Notably, eight of those nine fixtures have witnessed both teams score (88.89%), with all four of their draws during that period coming via the same 1-1 scoreline. But, that’s a sharp contrast to Napoli’s recent trips to Inter. Indeed, five of their last six H2Hs held at the Giuseppe Meazza have seen under 2.5 goals and one of the sides draw a blank, with the Partenopei winning only once in that period (W1, D3, L2).
