However, the reigning Scudetto holders thrashed Lazio 6-0 in Serie A in December, suggesting a third consecutive H2H Coppa Italia quarter-final loss at Meazza is far-fetched. Adding to this sentiment, Inter haven’t lost any of their last 16 home outings in all competitions (W12, D4), netting 2+ goals on ten occasions.

On the other hand, Lazio slumped to a tepid 0-0 draw at Venezia last weekend, derailing their spirits ahead of this ominous H2H. Marco Baroni’s charges have failed to make it out of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals in four of their last five campaigns, highlighting the magnitude of the task awaiting them this midweek. As if that’s not worrying enough, ‘I Biancocelesti’ have blown hot and cold across their last five away matches in all competitions (W2, D1, L2), failing to get on the scoresheet in all three winless outings. They had also lost five consecutive away H2Hs against Inter before drawing 1-1 in Serie A last May.
