Inter Milan vs Juventus 28/04/19
28 April 2019
Saturday’s Serie A action concludes with a massive clash between Inter Milan and Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as the Nerazzurri hope to snap a four-game winless streak against bitter rivals in H2Hs.
Unbeaten in their last four Serie A outings (W2, D2), the hosts seem to be on the verge of securing the Champions League promotion as they sit five points clear of fifth-placed Atalanta, with five league games left to go. However, the Milanese giants have entered this round of fixtures carrying a three-game home winless run on their backs (D2, L1) with all three of those clashes featuring under 2.5 goals. No team has shipped fewer goals at home than Inter (8) this term, with Luciano Spalletti’s men keeping nine clean sheets in 16 SA home matches. However, a lack of creativity in the final third has seen the Nerazzurri netted just 22 home goals so far on an average of 1.38 scored per match. It is, however, fair to say that all four of Inter’s competitive home wins in 2019 have seen them bagged over 1.5 match goals.
Meanwhile, the visitors have already sealed their eighth successive Serie A title after pulling off a 2-1 home win over Fiorentina last time out. That victory has helped the Bianconeri break a three-game winless streak across all competitions (D1, L2), but it was also the fifth consecutive game in which they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet. Surprisingly, the reigning holders have suffered two defeats on their last three SA road trips (W1, L2), conceding precisely two match goals in both failures. In spite of the recent struggling, no team has collected more points away from home than Juventus (40) this term, with Massimiliano Allegri’s men securing 13 wins on 16 SA road trips (W13, D1, L2).
Interestingly, five of six of the previous SA H2H meetings between these two sides at this venue have featured goals on both ends, with four of them producing over 2.5 match goals.
