Inter Milan vs Barcelona 07/11/18

07 November 2018

The two top teams of the Champions League Group B are set to face-off against each other at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as Inter Milan prepare to host Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri have been outstanding in the opening two Champions League clashes, having secured both wins after coming back from a 1-goal deficit. The Milanese giants have performed one of the most impressive comebacks in Europe this season, as they’ve defeated Tottenham Hotspur at home although they were in a 1-goal deficit seven minutes before the final whistle. Luciano Spalletti’s players have also managed to turn the match against PSV around, wrapping up all three points thanks to goals from Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi. However, Inter suffered their first Champions League failure at Camp Nou a fortnight ago, having been outclassed by the Blaugrana.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are comfortably topping Group B with a maximum of nine points after the opening three fixtures. With ten goals scored they are the most devastating attacking side in the Champions League this year along with PSG, as they are also the only ones to score at least two goals in each encounter so far. Mainly thanks to Leo Messi, the reigning La Liga champions have scored four goals apiece against both PSV Eindhoven and Spurs, before defeating Inter by two goals to nil. Furthermore, apart from the two goals conceded against the Premier League outfit, Ernesto Valverde’s players didn’t allow a single goal in the remaining two games, as they stand as one of the best defensive teams in Europe most prominent club competition.
