Hungary vs Finland 19/11/18

19 November 2018

Hungary and Finland are set to face-off against each other at the Groupama Arena in Budapest, with the hosts hope to get at least a draw and avoid a relegation to the UEFA Nations League Group D.

Marco Rossi’s players are not going through the best of times, considering they’ve barely clinched two successes out of nine matches in 2018. Although Hungary secured two victories over Greece and Estonia at home, the two failures on the road as well as the unexpected 3-3 draw with the Baltic nation have put them at risk of losing their spot in Group D. Moreover, before a 2-0 win over the Blueshirts a few days ago, Nemzeti Tizenegy failed to keep a clean sheet in all four remaining competitive matches in 2018, while they’ve missed out to find the back of the net twice in the process.

With a record of four wins and one defeat, Finland top the Nations League Group C/2, and they will remain there regardless of the result in this match. Before a narrow 1-0 loss to Greece on the road, Huuhkajat have registered four straight triumphs in the competition, having also outscored Hungary in the process. Moreover, before the aforementioned failure, Markku Kanerva’s players have kept a clean sheet five times in a row, as they’ve allowed just four goals in the previous eleven meetings. On the other hand, Finland failed to find the back of the net in three out of the past 18 matches across all competitions.
