Huesca vs Sevilla 03/03/19
03 March 2019
Dead-last Huesca welcome a struggling Sevilla team to Estadio El Alcoraz in a match that has equal importance to both sides.
Currently trailing La Liga safety by six points, every point counts in Huesca’s relegation battle as the hosts come into this meeting after playing out a 1-1 draw with Espanyol on the road. A lack of consistency has seen the returnees picking up two triumphs and suffering two defeats in their last four LL home outings. Los Azulgranas’ poor results closely relate to their weak defensive performances that currently put Huesca as the fourth-worst defensive team in the Spanish top flight. What’s more, they are one of two teams that have managed just one clean sheet in 13 LL home clashes, with Francisco’s men conceding an average of 1.45 goals per match. Another worrying fact for the Spaniard is that his players scored just 24 goals this campaign, which is the second-worst offensive record in the top tier.
On the other hand, the visitors are going through a dreadful spell having lost three of their last four LL meetings (D1, L3). Desperate to overthrow fourth-placed Getafe, the Andalusians are looking to return to winning ways against a team they’ve defeated 2-1 in the first half of the season. However, it will be easier said than done as Los Hispalenses lost five of their previous six road encounters across all competitions (W1, L5) having scored just two goals in the process. Sevilla’s immense problems in the final third when they play away from home have seen them score 2+ match goals on just two of their previous 14 road trips. Another query for Pablo Machin is that his players failed to preserve a clean slate in 11 of last 12 away games allowing over 1.5 goals per match five times along the way.
